Choice Of Choices
You must have gone through a lot of experiences in your life where you have choices to make.
a. Sometimes, there are many choices and it is rather easy to choose.
b. Sometimes, there are few choices and it is hard to choose.
c. Sometimes, there is no choice at all. You have to oblige.
Now, many contend that there is always a choice to make. To some extent it might be true. But, in that case, the other choice may be unethical, inhuman and despicable.
Let us understand these cases one by one using examples:-
a. You have gone to an ice-cream stall and you were shown 8 different options. Here, choices are many and not very difficult to choose. Unless, you have a morbid obsession towards any particular flavor.
Any choice here is safe and sound.
b. Consider yourselves in the middle of a city. You have to attend a job interview after some time. You are late. You have to decide whether to go by metro, bus, taxi, pool-car, etc. Every choice is expected to give almost similar result.
Here, choices are hard and your choice assumes considerable significance. A wrong choice could cost you your job.
c. In an election, a candidate whom you opposed, won. Now, you have no choice but to yield and respect the mandate of the people. You do not have a choice to elect you own personal candidate.
In point (c), there is a sticking point. Many propose that we always have a choice.
So, in this case, the other option is to rebel. Choose you own leader and form a parallel government.
Now, my question is, do you see it as a choice?
Similarly, you witness a kid drowning in a pond. You know how to swim. Again, you have two choices to make.
Jump and try to save the kid.
Or, let him leave to his fate.
Again, my question is, Do you see the later as a choice?
Similarly, suppose your child fails in the annual exams. You have two choices.
Counsel him. Motivate him.
Or, beat him and torture him.
Again, does the later counts as an option for you?
If yes, then your CHOICE OF MAKING CHOICES is WRONG. And, it is because of this, there is anarchy, crime, rape, abuse, violence, etc present in this world.
Terrorists strongholds are increasing. Extremism is spreading its roots. Democracy is corrupt and weak. Weapons are more and medicines are less.
My sincere request.
