Why, Hyderabad Encounter was Desirable not Viable

Let's first hear, what police have to say. CP of Cyberabad police, V.C Sajjanar said that its personnel were at the spot to reconstruct the crime scene that led to the rape and murder of the veteran doctor on the intervening night of 27-28 November. He said," We came with them to the spot. At this time, they started attacking our party and snatched weapons and opened fire." Police officials retaliated and killed all 4 accused. Some police personnel are injured too, he added. People are celebrating the fact that "quick justice" has been delivered. But, is it as smooth as it looks? Is it really the way to deliver justice? Is the police action really justified? Let us keep our sentiments and emotions aside and discuss it with equanimity. 1. "Rule of law" Nobody can deny the fact that the 4 accused were in police custody. So it's rather custodial death than encounter. Constitution clearly says that any suspect/accused is "innocent...

ANSWERING PAKISTAN ON AYODHYA

Image
First of all, if you are not aware of the Ayodhya issue, please go through it in detail and then come here. There are plenty of resources like youtube, news articles, etc where you can get detailed analysis chronologically of the Ayodhya dispute. So lets start. My first question to Pakistani media and its politicians is, "Why do you care?" Indian Muslims are self-aware and more intelligent than you. They are able to speak for themselves and they have spoken. The chairman of one of the main parties in this case, Sunni waqf board has already issued a confirmation that they will not file a review petition and that they will humbly accept the SC verdict. Here is the undersigned letter.   Same is the case with Iqbal Ansari , son of the oldest litigant of this case Hashim Ansari , who said I am happy with the verdict and that the "Construction of Ram Mandir will usher in new ear of developement".    "I feel vindicated" says th...

WHAT TO DO THIS DIWALI?

Here are the things we need to take care of:- I: Cleanliness Though, it is late to talk about this at this point of time. I am pretty sure that you people have achieved this goal well before now, however, if you have not, do it now. Let's be honest, this is the only time throughout the year when our houses, cupboards, study tables, computers, etc are thoroughly cleaned. If you are ignoring it, please don't. Why do we do it? I mean, how is cleaning related to diwali? Well, it depends on how you see it. Everybody has different opinion about this. According to my Maa, we do cleaning because on diwali, we pray goddess Lakshmi for wealth and prosperity, and invite her to our houses as a guest. She will only come if house is clean and fresh. Otherwise she will avoid it. For me, we are going to decorate our house with lights, diyas (to know more, click here ), and all sorts of stuff. This decoration doesn't make sense when your house is dirty. So, it is only logical w...

THE PAK-USA BONHOMIE

Image
America has been the world super power right from the end of second world war. The Britain had lost its power and two major poles emerged as super powers. One was USA and the other was the USSR. However, after disintegration of the USSR, its powers got diluted and USA became the one and only pole in the world map with great powers and discretion. This article is mainly focused on the Pak-USA relations. We have seen now a days that the relationship between these two nations are not quite good. USA has come closer to India and neglects much of the issues raised by Pakistan. But, this was not true some time before. Let's go through some issues one by one: THE AFGHAN PROBLEM When Taliban was ruling the Afghanistan, the tensions between USA and Taliban led to a war between these two nations and eventually the rule of Taliban ended and a so called democratic government was established in Afghanistan by the USA. Why it happened is well known to the whole world(The Osama B...

Should I Quit? Or Should I Continue?

When Tara was 5 years old, her family was to visit vaishno devi temple. Vaishno Devi ,  is a manifestation of the Hindu Goddess Mata Adi Shakti , also known as Goddess Mahalakshmi . Temple is located in Katra at the Trikuta Mountains within the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir . ( Source: Wikipedia; visit here ). Vaishno Devi Temple can be reached after making a steep 13-km trek from the road head at Katra , the town at the foot of the Trikuta hills. Her family decided that they would trek while Tara would take help of a pony to complete that 13 km journey. Tara didn't agree with that. She was confident that she would do the trekking along with her family, and she could do it easily. 13 km isn't that long, is it? After a long discussion within her family, and because of Tara's indefatigable demand, her family surrendered. The trek started. They were just half a kilometer when Tara said to her dad. " I told you na, I can do it. See, I am walking ...

Ambivalence of decisions

Life is full of decisions. Your morning should start with tea or coffee? Your workout session should be cardio or weight training? You want to eat sweet or spicy? Veg or Non-veg? We all know, the list can go on and on.... However, taking these decisions are rather easy. It starts to get complex as we start increasing the level. How about choosing your aim? Whether to go with science,  humanities or commerce? Give more time to yourselves or family? A laptop or a bike? I believe we all have experienced these situations. And they really bother you, don't they? Even after giving a considerate amount of time, you are still unsure and equivocal. Why? Lets go to next level. How about choosing between father or mother? To Choose between children or parents? To save for the future or to spend for the present? To pay the child's school fee or to pay the emi? Things get ugly here, don't they? I know you have answers to my questions. You are welcome to comment below. But let m...

THE FIRST MAN OF MY LIFE

This post is written by my dear friend who goes by pen name SHREE. First time, he holds you, a promise is made, for a man to change. A commitment he has never given before. To be always there for you. He knows the next part of his life is going to be tough. Each day he will be facing his back against the sun. But he's never going to complain. He'll just smile, making it seem like it's all fun. When you open your eyes, you see the world and in that world you'll encounter your very FIRST MAN, in your life. And slowly he will become your hero. You will think being a man is so worthy and so tough. He becomes the rock you lean on, making sure all his jagged edges are chiseled to Smoothness for you to lie with comfort.  He becomes the Ladder for you to step on, so that you catch those dreams nestled high up in the sky.  He becomes your biggest admirer , dancing in glory for all your victories. When circumstances shove you, he steps in front of the world, shielding ...

A talk of the town

I have personally encountered many incidents where I would be sitting with a bunch of people of my age group. Listening to them is always a pleasure. So it would be like a group discussion, just like the ones that happen when we apply for jobs. The only difference is the topics. In interviews, the topics may include globalization, global warming, international affairs, internal security, or job related topics. However, here, the topic can be anything, be it the flat nose of kim-jong-un or the long curly hair of the girl who passes by every morning with a bunch of books in her hands and wide glasses which makes her eyes even bigger. You can encounter intense debate about topics which are just trivia but yet so important. Today I will be talking about one of such incidents. I was at my village, it was a summer with scorching heat. Nights were very short. Mornings and evenings didn't seem to exist. All we could see and feel was the bright sun and the reeling heat everywhere. People...

The Match

Just so you know, I am a volleyball player. Actually, I WAS a volleyball player, Now I am just an unemployed youth with a large experience of volleyball. So, this incident dates back to 2012 when I was 15 years old and was selected to represent my zone in district U-19 tournament. Being the junior most player of my team, besides doing all the training and practice, I was in charge of carrying water, cleaning the room, washing jerseys, handling kit, etc. I never complained because of two reasons, One, every player who is senior now, was once junior, and had to do every thing that I was doing that time. Second, I was just happy enough that I was selected for U-19 team despite being only 15 years old and was willing to do anything as long as I was in the team. The tournament was scheduled for 7 days with 12 teams participating from different zones. There were 4 different courts for practice, and one can easily see other teams practicing, their techniques, strength, stamina, quality of p...
